Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience creating user-centered digital experiences, visual designs, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and usability best practices.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create high-fidelity mockups, visual designs, and interactive prototypes for web and digital platforms.
• Partner with UX researchers, designers, developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate user needs and business objectives into effective design solutions.
• Contribute to and evolve design systems, visual standards, and reusable components that promote consistency, scalability, and efficiency.
• Present design concepts, recommendations, and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and user insights into iterative improvements.
• Support the end-to-end design process, from concept development and requirements gathering through implementation and validation.

Join Mutual of Omaha's Digital Experience & Design team as a UX Visual Designer, where you'll create intuitive, engaging digital experiences that connect customer needs with business goals. In this role, you'll collaborate with UX researchers, designers, developers, and business partners to design and deliver visually compelling, accessible, and user-centered solutions across digital platforms. You'll help shape the future of our digital experiences by bringing concepts to life through high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and scalable design systems that drive consistency and innovation.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

• UX Visual Designer: $86,000-$114,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
• 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Create high-fidelity mockups, visual designs, and interactive prototypes that deliver intuitive and engaging user experiences across web and digital platforms.
• Partner with UX researchers, designers, developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate user needs and business objectives into effective design solutions.
• Contribute to and evolve design systems, visual standards, and reusable components that promote consistency, scalability, and efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Experience creating user-centered digital experiences, visual designs, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of responsive design principles, digital accessibility standards, and usability best practices.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and presentation skills with the ability to influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.

• Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States.

PREFERRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Experience designing for mobile applications and responsive digital experiences.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Knowledge of analytics tools and data-driven design decision making.
• Active participation in UX, design, or digital experience industry communities.
