Job summary

The American Mathematical Society is seeking a User Interface Designer to develop, maintain, and support the AMS website and digital products. You will design UI through wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and prototypes, collaborating with the Web Working Group and developers to deliver visually appealing and usable web content and interfaces.

You will ensure accessibility, maintain style guidelines, analyze usage metrics with Google Analytics, and document new design processes while adapting to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven UI design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Expert in HTML and CSS coding.
• Advanced user of AI tools.
• Familiar with Bootstrap 3 and WordPress.

Responsibilities

• Design wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and rapid prototypes.
• Create functional, easy‑to‑use, and innovative web interfaces.
• Maintain and improve responsive web content.
• Assist in analysis of AMS website usage metrics via Google Analytics.
• Understand and work within web style guidelines.
• Establish and maintain website accessibility standards.
• Communicate with content providers to ensure guidelines.
• Write clear documentation of new web design processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
