Job summary

Andromeda Surgical, Inc. is seeking a creative UX Designer to shape the touchscreen interface that lets surgeons control a robotic system in real time on an iPad.

You’ll blend 2D and 3D interaction design, craft responsive feedback, and prototype from sketches to high-fidelity mockups while collaborating with hardware and software engineers. You will own research with surgeons, develop design guidelines, and prepare documentation for FDA/regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years of UX or interaction design experience.
• A strong portfolio showing high-craft work, especially with hardware-software interaction.
• Experience designing 2D/3D interfaces with motion and feedback.
• Experience conducting user research and translating insights into design decisions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup with limited resources.

Responsibilities

• Design the touchscreen interface that lets surgeons control the robot intuitively in real time.
• Create visual feedback systems showing robot state, tissue interaction, and progress.
• Conduct user research with surgeons to understand workflows and pain points.
• Rapidly prototype from rough sketches to high-fidelity mockups.
• Design across 2D and 3D, with animation and motion, not static screens.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to translate design intent.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation for regulatory processes (FDA filings).
• Define and maintain design guidelines for the surgical interface.
