Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a hands-on UX Designer to shape the user experience of legislative software within the LMS division. You will partner with product managers, analysts, and React/.NET engineers to move from research to wireframes and production-ready designs, while building a scalable design system.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of UX/product design, strong Figma and MUI experience, and comfort with AI design tools to accelerate ideas into testable concepts.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of UX or product design experience with a portfolio.
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, prototyping, and design tokens.
• Experience designing with the Material UI (MUI) component framework.
• Strong interaction design skills: user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and micro-interactions.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS, and with front-end constraints.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to synthesize findings into actionable design decisions.
• Hands‑on experience with Claude Design or comparable AI design tools, or a demonstrated eagerness to adopt AI tooling to accelerate design work.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with product managers, engineers, and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements and user insights into user flows, information architecture, low- and high-fidelity designs, and clickable prototypes.
• Design interactions and micro-interactions that hold up under pace and pressure of legislative session work.
• Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback through iterations.
• Produce and maintain component libraries, design systems, tokens, and documentation for consistency.
• Work closely with React and .NET developers to ensure designs are implementable with clear specs.
• Extend and apply the Material UI framework to avoid reinventing patterns.
• Advocate for accessibility, performance, and responsive design throughout delivery.
• Conduct usability testing with legislative end users and iterate designs.
