Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a Design Lead on the UX design team to guide a small group of designers and researchers, and to craft innovative, research-based solutions for complex problems while building domain knowledge with development and project teams.

You will mentor junior designers, drive end-to-end UX from concept to validation, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and advocate for strong design principles within an Agile, on-site Spring, TX environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Graphic design, UX design, Human Factors, HCI, Information science, or a similar field.
• 10+ years of UX or related field experience.
• Experience leading a small UX team across various projects.
• Proven experience leading UX design projects from concept to usability testing.
• Mentor and develop junior designers in a collaborative environment.
• Work with product managers and developers to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Show initiative, flexibility, and strong teamwork.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience on an Agile software team.
• Must be able to work from ExxonMobil campus in Spring, TX.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX projects for a small design team.

• Create innovative, research-based design solutions.
• Lead a small team of UX designers and researchers, managing work intake and timelines.
• Design solutions that increase user productivity and simplicity.
• Incorporate research findings into designs and communicate designs via sketches, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Collaborate with other designers, stakeholders, and project teams; adapt to dynamic priorities.
• Contribute to upstream design language and maintain velocity.
