The mission of the North Carolina Health Careers Access Program (NC-HCAP) at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is to increase the number of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who are educated, trained, and employed in the health professions. One of NC-HCAP’s signature programs is the Science Enrichment Preparation (S.E.P.) Program.
The S.E.P. Program is an 8-week honors-level Academic Enrichment Program for rising sophomores and juniors interested in Medicine and Dentistry. The program includes coursework in Physics, Organic Chemistry, Human Physiology, and Quantitative Skills/Biostatistics. Scholars also participate in a summer reading component. The Summer Reading Instructor will lead this component, responsible for curriculum design, facilitating discussions, creating quizzes, grading, and managing group presentations and homework.
No license or certification is required for this position.
