Job summary

Ferry County Health seeks an Utilization Review Nurse to review medical records and treatment plans, ensuring patients receive appropriate, necessary, and cost-efficient care. The role includes inpatient and outpatient authorization reviews, care coordination, and discharge planning. It can be a mix of onsite and remote work.

The RN will document care, update guidelines, and advocate for patients while collaborating with providers and insurers.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.
• PALS within one year of hire.
• Safety sensitive position per RCW 49.44.240(3)(g).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the safe discharge of patients.
• Document patient care and stay updated on care guidelines.
• Audit charts daily to ensure correct diagnosis and care.
• Enter information into InterQual to assess medical necessity.
• Review and process clinical appeals related to denials.
