Job summary

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is seeking a Utilization Review Coordinator to coordinate patient services across the continuum of care, promoting effective utilization and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role requires attention to documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The position emphasizes collaboration with nursing and medical staff, adherence to federal and hospital policies, and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or Psychology required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CCM or ACM preferred.
• BLS and HWC obtained during orientation, if applicable.
• Strong knowledge of medications; excellent time management, data entry, and communication skills.
• Detail oriented and thorough in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Filing documents as needed.
• Initial precertification with payors.
• Concurrent clinical review with payors.
• Document in the electronic system daily in real time.
• Admission audit.
• Ensure CONs/RONs and CMS certifications are completed by provider.
• Communicate professionally with staff and patients; maintain productive relationships.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in the field through reading and seminars.
