Utilization Management Nurse (UM RN)

Are you a skilled RN passionate about quality care and resource efficiency? Join our Utilization Management team to support interdisciplinary collaboration, resource stewardship, and positive patient outcomes. As a UM Nurse, you will serve as a clinical advisor, problem solver, and resource utilization expert.

What You’ll Do

1. Partner with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective and efficient use of healthcare resources.
2. Monitor patient care delivery to align with best practices, standards, and financial goals.
3. Provide guidance on utilization practices, clinical documentation, and discharge planning.
4. Leverage data and clinical judgment to support care transitions and coordination.
5. Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives focused on resource utilization and patient-centered care.

Minimum Requirements

• BSN preferred or graduate degree in Nursing.
• Active RN license in Missouri.
• 2 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Windows and electronic health records.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Utilization Management experience.
• Familiarity with managed care, TJC, CMS standards, and performance improvement.
• Knowledge of ICD/CPT/DRG coding systems.
• Behavioral Health experience.
• Experience analyzing utilization metrics.
• National certification in Utilization Management or Case Management (e.g., ACM, CCM, or CMAC).
