Qualifications

• Leads and guides the Utilization Management section to align with institutional goals.
• Communicates operational changes in real time to stakeholders.
• Collaborates with multiple departments, including Managed Care Services and Health Information Services.
• Develops, updates, and maintains section policies and procedures.
• Oversees budgeting, expenditures, and financial planning for the section.

Responsibilities

• Develop work goals for the section consistent with institutional goals.
• Plan and align section performance with department scope of service parameters.
• Annually review policies and maintain section and institution policies.
• Supervise the section and manage direct reports.
• Collaborate with UM Physician Advisor and other departments.
• Define and achieve financial targets for the section within the departmental plan.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures for salary and non-salary items.
• Provide education and training to staff and physicians as needed.
• Participate in management meetings and regular team updates.
