Job summary

Rivendell Behavioral Health Services in Benton, AR is seeking a Utilization Coordinator - PRN to perform timely clinical reviews with managed care payers to obtain authorization for continued treatment. As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Utilization Coordinator - PRN performs timely, daily clinical reviews with all payer types (Managed Medicare, Managed Medicaid and commercial) to secure authorization for continued treatment (i.e. by fax, telephone or on-line) based on payer’s criteria. The Utilization Coordinator facilitates a continuum of service while promoting positive outcome and optimal reimbursement, through coordination of patient care, daily clinical reviews, quality documentation, appeals, and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must hold AR RN license or be license eligible.
• Minimum of two years psychiatric experience in chart analysis and in the utilization review field. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients, physicians, staff and payors.
• Knowledge of external review organizations, payor sources, financial planning and contracting (i.e., managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• CPR and Handle with Care/Verbal De-escalation offered upon hire.Mandatory certifications.
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with patients, families, visitors and staff. Must be able to work as a team with all staff/coworkers and maintain the ability to treat all patients with respect.
