Job summary

Toho Water Authority is seeking an entry-level team member to support the construction and maintenance of its water resources systems. Under close supervision, you will perform semi-skilled manual labor and operate basic equipment.

Weekend crew assignment requires Friday through Monday 6:30am-5:00pm, with opportunities to contribute to repairs, valve checks, hydrant services, and basic pipefitting while ensuring safety and quality for our customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry level position; previous relevant work experience preferred but not required.
• Must possess a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle and construction equipment; use power tools safely.
• Perform pipefitting, install/repair sewer laterals, and inspect for leaks.
• Support water/wastewater line repair and quality control services for customers.

Job description

Under close supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform entry-level work in support of the construction and maintenance of Toho Water Authority's water resources systems. Workflow involves performing semi-skilled manual labor, operating heavy equipment, locates, repair water/wastewater lines to ensure quality control services to customers. Reports to the Zone Foreman. This position is assigned to the weekend crew and requires a regular weekend work schedule of Friday - Monday 6:30am-5:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Must be physically able to operate a vehicle, construction equipment, and various hands-on power tools. Tasks involves the ability to exert heavy physical effort in the heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (20-50 pounds) and occasionally very heavy weight (in excess of 100 pounds).
• Performing skills from basic to high tolerance of pipefitting, Installing, replacing, repair and remove sewer laterals blockages. Breakage and removal of concrete and asphalt repairs. Exercises valves, checks hydrants for leaks, services for customers.

Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the candidate's ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
• This is an entry level position; previous relevant work experience is preferred but not required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.

• Employees in this position are eligible to receive weekend differential pay for hours worked during designated weekend shifts.
