POSITION: Utility Worker – Set Up

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

FLSA STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

SALARY: $16.50 Hourly

THE ROLE: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Utility Worker’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with Legends & ASM Global policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging tables, and other equipment for the successful execution of events.
  • Maintain and repair basic convention center equipment (seats, dasher boards, replace batteries, etc.)
  • Cleaning and maintenance of back of house areas, garages, and workstations/work areas.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations for the facility are met, including trash removal, restocking, and spill cleanup.
  • Transport equipment to and from offsite storage, as necessary.
  • Conduct general machinery cleaning, washing, mopping, and spot cleaning.
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with a high regard to quality that is consistent with the needs of the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment.
  • Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Ensure proper facility preparations for event requirements as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum years of related work experience: 2 years.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must read, write, and fluently communicate with others and colleagues.
  • Must have good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal hours.
  • Present a professional appearance and positive work ethic.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Required to climb stairs, ladders, and use other similar equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unaided.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to work in inclement weather environments.

Working Conditions

Location: On Site - Fresno Convention Center, Selland Arena, Saroyan Theatre, and Valdez Hall.
