Job summary

North Oaks Communities in Pikesville, MD, is seeking a part-time Utility Worker to join a hospitality-focused team. The role includes dishwashing, pot washing, cleaning, and storing food supplies, with a 4pm-8pm shift several evenings per week and rotating weekends/holidays.

You will set up and operate dishwashing equipment, follow cleaning schedules, maintain sanitary conditions indoors, and comply with immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

Are you seeking a part time Utility position with a team that puts Hospitality first? If so, you will love joining the team of rock stars at North Oaks, a premier retirement community in Pikesville, Maryland! The Utility Worker performs several kitchen activities including pot washing, dishwashing, and general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies.

Shift and Schedule:part-time non-exempt position.4pm-8pm, several evenings per week with rotating weekends and some holidays.

Essential Duties:

• 1. Performs, under the direction of supervisory personnel, dish and pot washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies.
• 2. Sets up the dish and pot washing area.
• 3. Prepares for dishwashing and washes pots, dishes and utensils.
• 4. Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes and utensils.
• 5. Cleans and sanitizes productions equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
• 6. Empties trash containers as required.

Other Duties:

• 1. Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.
• 2. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions.
• 3. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• 4. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• 1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
• 2. Ability to set-up and operate dishwashing equipment.
• 3. Compliance with North Oaks Immunization requirements.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Works indoors; must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday; must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Independently; must be able to push and pull bus carts and tray carts weighing up to 100 lbs. Independently; must be able to bend, , stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday.Must be able to perform sweeping/mopping functions with ease.May be exposed to quick variance of hot and cold temperatures from ovens and freezers.May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, and to hot water temperatures regularly.
