Join Pasco County as a Utility Worker III, engaging in skilled work in the operation and maintenance of water systems. This role involves a variety of tasks related to water and wastewater processes, operating heavy equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma and relevant experience in the field, alongside necessary certifications.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to frequently bend, climb, stoop, squat, and walk. Must pass pulmonary function test and fit test within 60 days. Position may require to be clean shaven in order to meet safety requirements.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Eighteen (18) months of direct experience in water or wastewater field maintenance.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's License. Must be able to obtain a valid Florida CDL Class "B" permit within thirty (30) days of employment. Must be able to obtain a Valid Florida "B" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with N Tanker endorsement within one hundred twenty (120) days from date of employment.
NOTE: Candidate hired, regardless of tier, will be provided the opportunity and required to obtain Confined Space, Trenching and Shoring and Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certifications within 18 months. EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES: All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. On call as needed.
