We are seeking a Utility Worker, Fabrication to support our North American Hydro division in York, PA. In the position you will work to support the manufacturing process of hydro electric components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work safely & responsibly utilizing the correct PPE for the task at hand
  • Stay on task & work with minimal supervision
  • Assist Welders, boilermakers and grinders with general setup of job components
  • Deburr components & grind weld holding clips as necessary
  • Empty cardboard basket & outside municipal trash scows weekly
  • Empty used shop rag containers at each workstation daily and supply new rags when needed
  • Maintain fabrication shop pole building
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections (Forklifts, scissor lifts)
  • Assist material handlers/riggers as necessary or assigned
  • Utilizing Forklift carefully & safely moves & manage product in & out the dept. as directed
  • Complete daily PM form at start of shift
  • Sweep & wash floors as necessary daily
  • Replace disposable floor mats as necessary
  • Pickup & store unused pallets, wood blocking, hoses, & any other equipment that may pose a trip hazard
  • Manage & maintain the pneumatic air tools, hydraulic jacks, air lines, etc.
  • Refill spill response containers as necessary
  • Manage & maintain the flammable liquid safety cabinets. Replenish chemicals as necessary
  • General duties as instructed by supervision
  • Maintain the weld wire storage area and restock wire ovens
  • Maintain and repair welding equipment

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing setting preferred

Physical Demands

Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are often required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees are required to talk and hear in an industrial setting (noise level can be high at times) and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
