Job summary

Electric Materials North East, Pennsylvania, United States, is seeking an entry-level Utility Worker to operate a wide variety of machines and equipment to produce quality components in a timely manner.

Candidates must read blueprints and drawings to plan work, perform basic shop math, follow safety policies, and assist in training as needed. A one-year certificate or two–three years related experience are acceptable. Forklift operation certification preferred.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, travelers and specifications to plan work.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; basic shop math.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up and operate equipment to saw, form, bend, trim , debur, degrease, plate and to perform other ancillary operations. Must be able to read blueprints, to work from drawings, travelers and specifications to plan work in proper operational sequence to produce quality components. Utilize various types of lifting equipment as needed to move and stage material for all operations in department. Must adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures. Assist in training where needed. Other duties will be assigned as required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Operate fork lift truck (will be licensed in accordance with OSHA power industrial truck operator requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Detect quantity discrepancies, defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision. Will complete data transactions where necessary. Perform changing lubrication, cleaning and maintenance of equipment when necessary. Will maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. A working knowledge of all job related Quality Management System operating procedures and work instructions is required.
