Job summary

Wyoming Valley West School District in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Utility Person to maintain the interior and exterior of district buildings, set up for events, and perform general custodial tasks. The role requires a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, the ability to perform elevated work and heavy lifting, and flexibility to cover after-hours shifts when others are absent.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining inside and outside of building as assigned.
• Set up for school functions such as athletic events, plays, programs, breakfast, lunch, meetings, etc.
• Clean and maintain office, lavatories, classrooms, halls, custodial areas.
• Duties such as drywall as needed, plaster, painting, repair furniture, repair urinals, toilets, sinks, replace light bulbs, pencil sharpeners, window shades, doors, door closures, door locks and lockers, etc.
• Performs ongoing preventive maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, buildings structures and hardware.
• Performs normal operator adjustments, and service to facility equipment.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Maintains seasonal grounds work: removing snow, seed and cut grass, trim shrubbery, pick up debris inside and outside of the building.
• May be required to drive stake body truck with hydraulic lift-gate, dump truck, van, generators and accessories used to maintain buildings and grounds.
• Haul and deliver supplies, move equipment and furniture etc.
• Substitute as a custodian and assist tradesmen as directed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with possible rotating shift

Hourly rate: $17.00

In this position you will report daily to State Street Elementary. While assigned to a District Building as a home base, the employee could be re-assigned throughout the District to cover any event or for an employees' absence.

The Utility Person's responsibilities are as follows:

Hours: Must be willing to work after normal hours, as a replacement for employee's absences and other days if events are scheduled.
