Responsibilities

• Follow directions from the General Manager to support yard and warehouse operations.
• Assist in receiving, unloading, and processing customer materials.
• Sort, clean, and prepare metals for sale and distribution.
• Operate a forklift safely after certification is obtained.
• Support baling operations and general equipment use.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across yard and warehouse work areas.
• Deliver excellent customer service by providing assistance and representing the company in a professional manner.

Utility Worker

C&D Scrap Metals – Houston, TX

Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time

Expected Hours: 38 – 45 hours per week

Mon-Friday, Saturdays as needed

8am-4 pm

This full-time position plays a key role in supporting both the scrap yard and warehouse operations, making it a cross-functional role with diverse responsibilities. The Utility Worker helps with receiving and processing metals, operating equipment, and assisting across departments to ensure smooth and safe daily operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
