Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility tree climber to join our outdoor team in Wahiawa, HI. Your office is the outdoors, and you’ll work on utility line clearance projects, performing pruning, removal, and tree care on-site.

The role involves climbing with DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, operating tools safely, and collaborating with a crew. Requires a valid license; CDL preferred; state licenses and ISA/TCIA certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B without air brake restriction.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Grow in responsibility based on performance.
