Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking an Environmental Services professional to clean and maintain patient areas during a full-time night shift. You will handle waste disposal, linens transport, and ensure safe, clean facilities while following hospital policies.

Applicants should have a high school credential, basic computer skills, and the ability to read and follow English instructions. Prior custodial experience in a healthcare setting is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and follow instructions.
• Experience with environmental services equipment and chemicals.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use mouse and keyboard.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas daily and dispose waste per policy.
• Transport soiled linens and waste per policy.
• Operate PPE properly.
• Report equipment issues and shortages.
• Assist with staff shortages and cover other areas as needed.
• Interact with patients/customers appropriately.

Job Description

Cleans assigned areas daily, including removing trash linens and biohaz waste. Conducts project cleaning of walls, light entrances, common areas, windows, vents, and sidewalks as assigned. Transports soiled linen and various types of waste in accordance with department and hospital policies. Utilizes personal protective equipment properly in all aspects of job performance. Monitors and reports any equipment issues or shortages and equipment is maintained. Adjusts to staff shortages and covers other assigned areas as needed. Interacts with patients/customers in an appropriate manner. Documents daily assignments once completed and makes suggestions for improvement. Other duties as assigned.
