Job description

UTILITY TECHNICIAN

Starting Hourly Rate: $20.00. The rate of pay depends on qualifications.

Hiring/Retention Incentive

External candidates who are hired by SAWS will receive a $1,000 Hiring Incentive. This incentive will be split into two payments of $500, made on the second and fourth paycheck after hire. Upon successful completion of the six-month introductory period, the new hire will be eligible for an additional $1,000 Retention Incentive, paid during the seventh month of employment. Full-time benefits include medical and dental coverage, life insurance, retirement plans, paid leave and holidays, tuition reimbursement, and more, as outlined on www.saws.org.

JOB SUMMARY

The Utility Technician is responsible for manual and semi-skilled labor duties related to the repair, construction, and maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. A valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License is required or must be obtained within six months of employment/assignment.
