Job summary

Haleon is seeking a Utilities Technician for its Lincoln, Nebraska site. The role focuses on maintaining compliant manufacturing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work to support GMP packaging of pharmaceutical products.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED and at least 6 months of facilities/utilities maintenance experience, with strong skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Document work, parts, and materials used to comply with SOPs and quality requirements.
  • Study blueprints and manuals to determine installation and operation of machinery.
  • Assist in planning, installation, and improvement of equipment; write procedures and change controls; keep drawings up to date.

About the role

The Utilities Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment in a compliant state, troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and documenting work on core facilities equipment or systems that support the manufacture and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

Role Responsibilities
  • Maintain equipment in compliant state by ensuring that documentation and audit trail is kept intact and required maintenance is performed. Responsible for equipment rounds and documentation of critical operating parameters.
  • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) instructions based on maintenance schedules.
  • Disassemble equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Repair and replace broken and malfunctioning components.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Operate newly repaired and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Document the work, parts and materials used to comply with SOPs and Quality requirements.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Participate in the planning, installation, and improvement of equipment. Responsible for writing and performing of technical procedures, change controls, and keeping drawings and schematics up to date. Support and meet departmental, plant, and corporate EHS goals. Work in a safe and efficient manner.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience (or related experience) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of Facilities/Utilities equipment maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic electrical repairs like sensor replacements, electrical connections, motor wiring and others.
  • Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions in order to perform installation, repair, and modification work.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, email, internet).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety compliance.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including validation issues and change control processes.

Location – this role is based in: Lincoln, Nebraska.

This is not a remote opportunity.

Schedule: 3rd shift, Mon-Fri 10:00pm to 6:30am.
