Job Description

Danfoss, located in Van Wert, OH, is actively searching for a Utility Technician for the 2nd Shift. In this role, you will be responsible for executing all essential tasks related to Preventive Maintenance (PM) for production equipment. You will also aid in the creation of PM Procedures and carry out these tasks according to the established schedule. Additionally, you will assist with equipment relocations, operational projects, and the installation required for these scheduled activities. Proficiency in fundamental industrial maintenance skills is a prerequisite.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Perform equipment PMs, utilizing established procedures, minor repairs, and lubricate machines and equipment as directed.

  • Read blueprints, schematics and layout diagrams to assist with work cell moves and equipment placement.

  • Maintain flexibility to be able to move from work area to work area to meet the delivery expectations of the customers and the productivity goals for the plant. Able to work efficiently to establish standards without constant supervision.

  • Help as needed with other facility needs as they arise (equipment moves, racking install and removal, set up conference rooms, hang boards and signs, spill clean ups, etc.) Promotes cooperation and "team oriented" work environment at all times under the direction of the leadership team.

  • Creates/maintains a safe work environment and practices safety for himself and others at all times and attends appropriate training seminars.

  • Assist with supporting other activities such as recycling, surplus equipment pick up, grounds keeping, snow removal and salting of walkways.

  • Maintains the maintenance shop, facility, equipment, and tooling in an organized safe and clean condition reflecting plant 5S values.

  • Work with maintenance lead and production leaders to establish task selection and priority

  • Work safely at all times and attend appropriate safety training seminars
