Job summary

Miami University seeks a Utility Systems Maint Specialist to keep campus mechanical systems in top condition. The role involves preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance on chillers, boilers, generators, and related equipment, ensuring reliable steam and hot/chilled water distribution.

Qualifications

  • Nine months of technical training beyond high school and three years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive under the University MVR policy.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor campus steam, hot water, chilled water, electrical systems.
  • Perform predictive, preventative, and routine maintenance on chillers, generators, engines, and related equipment.
  • Respond to plant alarms and troubleshoot equipment to determine repairs and parts.
  • Install new equipment and replace existing ones as required.
  • Assist with distribution systems and oversee Maintenance Assistants when needed.
  • Report abnormal conditions to Operations Managers.
