Job summary

National Park Service in Highlands, New Jersey seeks a Utility Systems Repairer Supervisor to oversee the operation of water treatment, wastewater treatment, distribution and collections, lift stations and water tanks.

You will adjust plant equipment, perform rounds, make flow adjustments, carry out preventive maintenance, replace pumps, troubleshoot and repair utility systems, and schedule work orders to keep critical facilities running reliably.

This is a Federal Wage System position.

• There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Distribution & Collections, Lift Stations and Water Tanks.
• Adjusts plant equipment for proper separation of settable matter from liquid and makes flow adjustments at lift stations.
• Performs general maintenance: replaces pumps, cleans equipment, and shovels sludge; troubleshoots and repairs utility systems and instrumentation.
• Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and schedules work orders.

You will serve as a Utility Systems Repairer Supervisor with National Park Service.

Key Responsibilities

As a Utility Systems Repairer Supervisor, you will perform the following duties: Supervises the operation of Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Distribution and Collections Systems, Lift Stations, and Water Tanks. Adjusts plant equipment for proper separation of settable matter from liquid. Makes rounds of the sewage lift stations, effecting necessary flow adjustments.

Performs general maintenance duties including adjusting equipment for repairs, replacing pumps, cleaning equipment, and shoveling sludge. Troubleshoots and repairs of utility systems, components, and instrumentation. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on utility systems. Schedules work orders.
