Job summary

Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. operates at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kansas. A Boiler/Plant Operator role involves operating boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment to maintain reliable utility services.

You will adjust controls, monitor SCADA/BMS systems, respond to alarms, and keep logs of operations while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across three available shifts.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the US.
• Ability to meet federal credentialing access requirements (PIV/smart card) to access the facility.
• Willingness to participate in the select agent program and comply with background investigations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, cooling towers and auxiliary equipment.
• Adjust system controls to regulate temperature, pressure, flow and chemical levels.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Monitor SCADA/BMS systems for performance and alarms.
• Respond to alarms, equipment failures or emergencies promptly and safely.
• Maintain logs, records and reports of plant operations and maintenance.
• Test and treat water systems to maintain chemical balance.
• Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements and OSHA regulations.
• Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

Job description

Location: Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. – National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility: Manhattan, Kansas

Pay: $35.56/hr. plus fringe benefit of $9.87/hr.

Hours: We have three shifts available. Please identify in the questionnaire which shift you prefer.

• 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (Wednesday to Saturday)
• 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Sunday to Thursday)
• 10:00 pm to 8:30 am (Wednesday to Saturday)

Job Description

Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment to maintain consistent utility services.

Adjust system controls to regulate temperature, pressure, flow, and chemical levels.

Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.

Monitor computerized control systems (e.g., SCADA, BMS) for performance and alarms.

Respond to alarms, equipment failures, and emergency situations in a timely and safe manner.

Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports of plant operations and maintenance activities.

Perform basic troubleshooting and assist maintenance staff in repairs of plant equipment.

Test and treat water systems (e.g., boiler and chiller water) to maintain appropriate chemical balance.

Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations.

Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives as directed.

Requirements:

• Employees may be subject to immunization and testing requirements pursuant to Client and current Company requirements.
• Employees must meet the requirements of the federal credentialing process to access the facility, which includes but is not limited to, obtaining facility access (aka PIV card, smart card, access card, badge) and meeting ongoing training and access requirements.
• Employees may be required to participate in the select agent program which would include additional background investigations, training, and performing work in a bio containment facility, as well as meeting ongoing program requirements to maintain eligibility and compliance.
