Job summary

Splendido’s Food & Beverage team seeks a Utility Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and back-of-house spaces. You will support the culinary team, handle dishwashing, and keep storage organized in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires physical work, reliability, and attention to detail with varied shifts, including weeknights and weekends. This is a safety-sensitive position at a resort dining operation in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, supplies, pots/pans, small wares, china, glass, and silver according to safety standards.
• Operate dishwasher and other cleaning equipment.
• Clean kitchen floors following standard procedures.
• Maintain safe storage of chemicals and equipment; follow safety rules.
• Record required logs per company policies and procedures.
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks as scheduled.
• Minimize loss and breakage through proper use and storage of equipment.
• Identify areas for improvement and participate in QA processes.

Help Keep Our Kitchen Clean, Safe, and Organized

Join Splendido's Food & Beverage team as a Utility Steward and help keep our kitchen operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dishware, and back‑of‑house work areas while supporting the daily needs of our culinary team. From dishwashing and maintaining kitchen supplies to keeping storage areas organized, your work will help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized, and enjoys being part of a team. If you're comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, can handle physical work, and understand the importance of cleanliness, safety, and attention to detail, this is a great opportunity to contribute to our Food & Beverage operations.

A full‑time opportunity is available with varied shifts. Weeknight, weekend, and holiday availability required. This is a safety‑sensitive position.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, supplies, pots/pans, small wares, china, glass, and silver according to established safety standards and regulations.
• Operate dishwasher and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Cleans kitchen floors following standard procedures.
• Applies knowledge of safe use and storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Maintains and records data on required logs per company policies and procedures.
• Completes daily and weekly cleaning assignments per task lists.
• Regularly empties trash containers; shifts and cleans garbage cans; properly operates compactor.
• Minimizes loss and breakage through proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner and on a schedule determined by kitchen and dining operations.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required:

• Able to understand, retain and apply basic instructions to perform routine tasks with limited supervision.
• Able to read and interpret work‑related documents, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labels.
• Able to perform strenuous physical labor, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Reliable, predictable, and punctual, to provide timely service to internal and external customers and to support uninterrupted business operations.

Preferred:

• 1 year experience.
• Sanitation Certificate.
• Shifts vary, flexibility in scheduling preferred.
