Union County in North Carolina seeks a Waste Collections Clerk to collect waste disposal fees, direct traffic at the convenience center, and assist customers with sorting and disposal. Must handle cash, operate a calculator, and maintain an orderly site.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and ability to work weekends/holidays. Physical work includes light lifting and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Under limited supervision, collecting waste disposal fees and maintaining a neat, organized collection site. Directs the flow of traffic in the site and provides information to customers. Must have good customer service skills and be able to work in all types of weather. Reports to the Union County Solid Waste Collections Supervisor.
High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED).
Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
Works various shifts including weekends and holidays as assigned.
Must be physically able to operate a calculators. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree and light lifting. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work, the job is rated for Light Work.
