Utility Services Worker - Water Distribution
Under general supervision, the Utility Services Worker provides support for the maintenance and repair of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater operations.
Examples of Duties:
- Ensures all fluids, tires, and lighting are operational and that equipment and supplies are available; prepares and checks tools and parts with the crew leader.
- Performs daily tasks by meeting with the crew leader, traveling to job sites, unloading equipment, inspecting areas, and locating valves and hydrants.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and equipment, checks fuel, tires, lighting, and fluids at shift end, and parks vehicles.
- Trains and assists other staff members as needed.
Experience and Training:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: One (1) year of general maintenance experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Within six months: valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
- Within one year: Class D Basic Water Operations license (TCEQ).
- Position may require enrollment in USDOT Clearinghouse for CDL holders.
