City of Vero Beach is seeking a Utility Service Worker to assist in installing, maintaining and repairing water, sewer and reuse water systems under close supervision. Duties include assisting crews, opening/closing valves, repairing sidewalks, and supporting safety programs.
The role requires a Florida Driver's License, with a Class B CDL permit within three months and a full CDL within six months, plus ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform heavy outdoor labor in varied conditions.
Under close supervision, performs heavy manual labor and assists in installing, maintaining and repairing water, sewer and reuse water systems; and performs related duties as assigned. The following duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
Some construction or other experience in performing heavy manual labor in an outdoor environment.
Possession of a Florida Driver's License. Must possess a Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class B learners permit within three (3) months of hire and license within six (6) months of hire. Automatic promotion to a Utility Service Worker upon obtaining a Class "C" Water Distribution System or Wastewater Collections Operator Certification.
