Utility Service Clerk-Part Time

ThePublic Works Departmentis accepting applications for apart-time Utility Service Clerk (USC) position effective immediately. The Utility Service Clerk assists in answering multiple phone lines, performs clerical and technical work involving the maintenance of the computerized utility master files of service accounts, processing of payments on customer accounts and assists customers with billing related questions. This position is also responsible for in house accounts payables including: coding of invoices, entering requisitions/purchase orders and working with finance department to ensure prompt payments to vendors.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by courses in bookkeeping and some experience in general office work.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

• Must have great phone and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Basic bookkeeping knowledge with accounts payables and coding a plus.

The USC part-time position averagesthirty (30) hours per week, Monday – Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.Hourly wage starts at $18.50/hour. No benefits.
