Job summary

Nexamp, a leader in clean energy, is hiring a Utility Scale Business Development Associate in Hybrid Austin, TX. You will support the utility-scale development cycle, originate large-scale projects, and help move them toward financing and construction. The role reports to the VP of Utility Scale Development.

You will source sites, prepare proposals, evaluate locations with GIS, and collaborate across Engineering, Finance, and Legal to identify risks and drive successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in renewable energy, business development, sales, or real estate.
• Strong sales voice and comfort with persuasive communication, including cold-calling.
• Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Earth.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects, initiatives, and data.
• GIS experience is preferred.
• Commitment to Nexamp's mission and passion for solving climate challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset with initiative to improve processes and services.
• Ability to analyze data, ask questions, and present creative solutions.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners.
• Desire to understand Nexamp operations to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Source new project sites using direct mailers and cold calls.
• Generate proposals and outreach materials to support development.
• Evaluate potential ground and rooftop solar sites using GIS.
• Maintain detailed reports using Salesforce and other apps.
• Build and preserve relationships with property owners and partners.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams to identify project risks.
• Provide general administrative support to the Business Development team.
