Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a dedicated dishroom attendant to support Nutrition Services in a hospital setting. You will wash, sanitize and deliver clean items, operate the dish machine, and maintain a safe, organized dish area.

The role involves standing for long periods, exposure to heat and cleaning chemicals, and collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure meals flow smoothly to patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, trays, pots, pans and utensils.
• Operate the dish machine and three-compartment sink as required.
• Return clean items to storage and service areas.
• Clean and sanitize the dish room, floors, carts, equipment and work areas.
• Remove trash and cardboard; keep disposal areas orderly.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety procedures.
• Assist with stocking and transporting supplies and other Nutrition Services duties.

Schedule: Full Time

What You'll Do

• Spend most of the shift washing and sanitizing dishes, trays, pots, pans and utensils.
• Operate the dish machine and use the three-compartment sink as required.
• Return clean items to the proper storage and service areas.
• Clean and sanitize the dish room, kitchen floors, carts, equipment and work areas.
• Remove trash and cardboard and keep disposal areas orderly.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety procedures.
• Assist with stocking, transporting supplies and other related Nutrition Services duties as assigned
• Most of the shift is spent standing and working in the dish room around heat, steam, water, food residue, cleaning chemicals and noise.

Requirements
