Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. in Dalton, GA is seeking a part-time Utility Relief to support the Made to Order department.

The role runs Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 9 pm and involves processing orders, stocking, labeling, packing swatches, and pulling room scenes for orders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a manufacturing setting, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and familiar with Shaw systems such as ASAP and Glink.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics for counting swatch inventory.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle standing/walking in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve POD labels and pull product from bins for carpet and hard surface products.
• Stock product in bins and relocate items as needed.
• Pull room scenes for orders and ensure accurate packing of swatches.
• Label swatches and package soft surface products.
• Assemble empty boxes for future use and prepare packing materials.
• Assist in training or guidance as directed by Lead or Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job Title Utility Relief | Monday- Friday Part- Time Position Overview This position is Monday - Friday 4pm-9pm.

Job Description Position Objective

To assist the Made to Order (MTO) department in the processing of product orders by performing a variety of departmental duties including processing and backstamping of received product, pulling swatches, stocking, labeling and the packing of swatches.

Primary Duties

• Retrieve Print on Demand (POD) labels and pull product from bins for both carpet and hard surface product.
• Stocking product in bins.
• Relocating product in bins.
• Pulling room scenes for orders.
• Removing dropped styles from inventory.
• Labeling of swatches as required.
• Packaging of soft surface product.
• Assembling of empty boxes for future use.

Other Duties

• Other duties as requested by Lead, Supervisor or management.
• Will be encouraged to participate in stretching exercises as directed by the supervisor or lead.
• Ability to learn and understand work orders and be able to perform basic mathematics (for counting swatch inventory).

Preferred Requirements

• Prior knowledge of Shaw inventory styles and colors.
• Prior knowledge of Shaw systems such as ASAP and Glink.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to walk up and down stairs throughout the day.
• Must be able to balance on a small step stool/ladder when locating swatches in upper bins.
• Continuous use of arms and hands.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to push a loaded buggy down an aisle throughout the day with a push force approximately 17 lbs.
• Must be able to operate pallet jacks with a push force of approximately 40 lbs.
