We are seeking a dedicatedUtility Professional to join our team! This full-time, 12-month position (40 hours/week) will primarily focus on student student transportation (80%) as a bus driver while also assisting with custodial duties (up to 20%). Candidates must obtain a school bus license within six months of hire, with all associated costs reimbursed by the district upon license attainment.

Job Goal

To ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of district facilities and transportation, providing a safe, comfortable, and appealing environment for students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications:

• General:
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, and perform physical labor (standing, walking, bending, climbing, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks within set deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Building Custodian & Assistant Buildings and Grounds Staff:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience in building maintenance, custodial work, or facilities management a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and methods.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various tools and machinery.
• Bus Driver:
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • At least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid state driver's license for at least 3 years
  • Must hold certification by the State of Illinois for bus operation orwill attaincertification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Be subject to a drug screen and physical
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
  • Experience with school bus safety, student supervision, and transportation procedures is preferred but can be learned through training and education.
