Job Description

The Utility Porter/Houseperson provides exceptional service by maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of Valley Forge's hotel towers, ensuring adherence to our high standards of hygiene and presentation.

  1. Perform detailed cleaning tasks, including high dusting, carpet care, and floor maintenance. Ensure preventative maintenance of cleaning equipment such as shampoo machines and sweepers.
  2. Utilize your experience in floor care and knowledge of cleaning equipment.
  3. Remove used laundry and trash from hotel rooms and attendant carts before room cleaning.
  4. Work across all areas following established standards, techniques, and safety procedures for machines and chemicals, while delivering excellent customer service.
  5. Report any facility issues related to structure, equipment, or plumbing to the supervisor.
  6. Keep attendant carts and housekeeping storerooms stocked and organized according to departmental procedures.
  7. Document all duties performed during shifts as directed.
  8. Clean and maintain guest areas, including hallways, stairwells, and vending areas, ensuring they are free of linen, trash, and food items at all times.
  9. Maintain storage areas by cleaning and restocking supplies.
  10. Deliver outstanding guest service, demonstrating politeness and courtesy, and proactively assisting guests and team members with their needs.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Previous cleaning and floor maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working around people and takes pride in maintaining a clean environment.
  • Ability to meet performance standards for assigned tasks.
  • Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass background screening and complete annual training courses.
