This Position

We’re seeking a reliable and experienced Utility Pole Foreman to join our field operations team in Kansas and Missouri. This role is for leaders who thrive outdoors, understand the demands of utility pole work, and know how to motivate a crew to get the job done safely and efficiently.

As a Foreman, you’ll oversee a 2–6-person crew performing utility pole inspections, treatments, installations, and replacements. You’ll ensure quality control, maintain productivity, and make sure all safety protocols are followed—every time, no exceptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a 2–6-person crew in inspecting, treating, installing, and replacing wood utility poles.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently in accordance with company standards.
  • Conduct and oversee inspection data collection using laptops, tablets, GPS, range finders, and other field tools.
  • Maintain vehicles, tools, and specialized equipment to ensure readiness for each project.
  • Meet and exceed safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Communicate clearly with management and team members regarding job progress and field conditions.
  • Travel regionally and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 12–24 months of experience as a Utility Pole Foreman (required).
  • Experience in electric or communications utility work ().
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage field crews.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and terrain.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Accurate attention to detail.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to learn components attached to utility poles.
  • Knowledge of a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment used for assessment and replacement purposes.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required to drive company vehicle.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana) and background check.
  • Prior military or field leadership experience a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to read and follow maps and documentation.
  • Capable of standing for long periods and walking through uneven terrain.
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet).
  • Willingness to work 10+ hour days
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel regionally with extended time away from home.
