Job Summary

The Production Utility Cleanup employee is to keep the plant clean and sanitary at all times. Sanitation, including but not limited to general cleaning of evaporator and dryer departments, aid in CIP functions as required. Primary responsibilities will be geared toward building service and sanitation, and all other duties as assigned. Secondary responsibilities will be assisting in CIP functions as required.

Essential Functions

• Air handler service and sanitation including but not limited to; cleaning air handler units, filter changes, belt changes, and writing work orders for mechanical issues.
• CT/UT/ES/BM silo room service and sanitation – foaming, detailing, rebuilding valves, etc.
• Evaporator/Dryer building service and sanitation.
• Help prepare for USDA/CDFA inspections and customer audits.
• Assist in cleaning/maintaining HTST processing rooms.
• Properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Know purposes and uses for each chemical and how to properly handle them.
• Maintain chemical storage area.
• Powder blower service and sanitation (cleaning cooling coils/replacing filters as needed).
• Maintaining dryer wet rooms including HPP’s, valves, gaskets, and PM program.
• General sanitation and other duties as assigned by management.
• Follow all the departmental proper established procedures, all instructions given by plant foreperson/supervisor and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist fellow operators as needed.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and be persistent until a solution is found.
• Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.
• Follow SQF, GMP, and HACCP policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety and working rules including LOBO.
• Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality environment.
• Excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.

• Sitting/Standing/Walking: Every workday the Production Utility Cleanup employee stands and walks throughout their shift. The employee walks on uneven concrete and tiles surfaces.
• Lifting/Carrying: Every workday the employee lifts up to 75 pounds. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 75 pounds.
• Pushing/Pulling: The employee pushes/pulls while using broom, vacuums, air hoses, and rags during cleanup duties.
• Bending/Stooping: Every workday the employee bends and throughout the workday, for varying lengths of time. The employee bends/stoops during daily cleanup duties, when sweeping, vacuuming, wiping the floors, walls, and equipment.
• Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: Every workday the employee may assume a combination of these positions during cleanup duties, including kneeling on the floor and crawling under equipment as needed.
• Twisting/Turning: Every workday the employee twists/turns at the waist when cleaning and sanitizing areas and/or equipment. The employee may be required to work in tight places.
• Climbing/Balancing: Depending on specific assignment, the employee may climb multiple stories of stairs to top of evaporators and dryers during the course of each workday and/or as needed for cleaning and sanitation purposes. Additionally, the employee may work on an enclosed catwalk.
• Reaching: Every workday the employee reaches below shoulder level. The Employee may reach at or above shoulder level while cleaning and/or sanitizing areas and/or equipment, during clean up duties, and climbing vertical ladders.
