Job summary

Walbec Group in the Midwest is seeking a Utility Pipe Layer to install, align, and inspect underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, and storm drains. You will work with a crew to prepare trenches, lay pipe to grade, and ensure connections meet safety and project specs.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds, work nights and weekends, and be ready to join the union. A current CDL is strongly desired and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Class A CDL strongly desired.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Member of a Local Laborer Union, or willingness to become a union member are required.

Responsibilities

• Installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains, and other piping systems.
• Preparing trenches, laying pipe to grade, and ensuring proper connections that meet safety and project specifications.
• Assisting with keeping machines and equipment maintained.
• Assisting in clean-up of job site.
• Performing other duties assigned by the Foreman or other management.
