Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on labor/maintenance associate to support quarry and plant operations. The role focuses on broad maintenance tasks, grounds upkeep, and safe workflows across the site.

Responsibilities include assisting with maintenance, operating small mobile equipment as needed, cleaning up areas, and performing various service tasks across the quarry. Prior aggregate experience is preferred, with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred.
• Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Prior experience operating mobile equipment a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain strong communications with all other plant employees to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
• Tasks may include grounds upkeep, shoveling, organization of parts
• Assist in maintenance work and area cleanup, this is honestly the bulk of the work.
• Perform a variety of service, inspection, or labor operations throughout the quarry or plants.
• Occasional operation of small mobile equipment.

What Are We Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2 years prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred; experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance a plus.
• Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment
• Prior experience operating mobile equipment (man reach, telehandler, skid steer, etc.) and machinery a plus.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
