The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, is seeking a skilled technician to perform plant equipment operation in a central energy plant environment. You will repair, maintain, inspect and operate utilities production equipment and distribution systems.
Responsibilities include startup/shutdown of major plant equipment, reading technical manuals, logging measurements, and attending safety training. Strong emphasis on safety and adherence to internal controls in a team setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED or equivalent years of education, experience, and/or training. Must be capable of demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a post-offer employment test as administered by UTMB Rehab Services. This job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor to the knuckle and 50lbs. from the knuckle to the shoulder, and requires frequent bending, standing, and walking.

Perform skilled-level operation of plant equipment and machinery typically found in a central plant environment. Maintain the necessary technical skills to repair, maintain, inspect, and operate Utilities production equipment, distribution systems, and energy management equipment.
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
