Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a production operator to set up, operate, and adjust machinery to produce high-quality components. You will inspect parts, measure with calipers, and document production and scrap while maintaining a safe, clean workspace on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates will read engineering drawings and routing sheets, use calipers and gauges, and perform SPC as required. This on-site role requires ability to handle multiple tasks, maintain tools, and work eight-hour shifts

• Maintain accurate production records and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust machines to produce quality products.
• Inspect, gauge, count parts and perform deburring, grinding, drilling, tapping, painting, boxing and other related tasks.
• Record production and scrap as required; maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Furnish own hand tools as needed.

Job description

A Day In The Life

• Operator will be required to set‑up, operate, and adjust machines and equipment to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment include thread cutter, thread roller, drill press, pedestal grinder, disc grinder, conveyor, stapler, boxer, and other departmental equipment.
• Processes performed will include inspecting, gauging, counting, deburring, grinding, drilling, tapping, painting, boxing, chamfering, thread cutting and thread rolling.
• Operator must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, routing sheets and must use calipers, gauges, etc., and perform SPC as required.
• Operator may be required to make visual inspections, separate parts, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
• Operator must furnish own hand tools.
• Operator must maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and/or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.
• Ability to walk, hear, see and have full use of both hands.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor.
• Ability to lift 90 lbs. from knee level to machine and back to knee level.
• These physical requirements are generalities and work may occasionally exceed the specified levels.
