Job summary

Covestro AG in Deerfield, MA is hiring a Utility Operator to support the production of high-quality films. You will receive training to perform daily activities within the specialty film production process, with a starting pay of $23.93 per hour plus shift differential.

The role is full-time with competitive pay, bonus potential, generous paid time off, a 401K plan with company match, tuition reimbursement, parental leave and comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work shifts; Day shift (7am-7pm) and night shift (7pm-7am).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and work around hot surfaces and rotating equipment.
  • Prior experience in film/sheet extrusion is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Operators with running the production lines
  • Assist Operators with starting up, operating, cleaning and shutting down processing equipment
  • Drive a fork truck in a safe manner and change batteries
  • Supplying / cutting packaging supplies
  • Cutting scrap and process rework materials
  • Record process and product information, testing samples, completing order paperwork and packaging materials

What We Offer

The Utility Operator supports the production of quality films. You will receive training to perform the daily activities associated with the specialty film production process. The starting pay for this role is $23.93 + shift differential.

  • This is a full time role that includes competitive pay, shift differential, annual bonus potential, generous paid time off, 401K with company match, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, parental leave and medical, dental and vision coverage (no waiting period).

Major Responsibilities
  • Assist Operators with running the production lines
  • Assist Operators with starting up, operating, cleaning and shutting down processing equipment

What You Offer
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be willing to work shifts; Positions available on day shift (7am-7pm) and night shift (7pm-7am)
  • Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 lbs of weight, climb stairs, lift and pull 10 lbs of weight in the overhead position, work in ambient room temperature of 100 degrees, and work safely around numerous hot surfaces and rotating equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous knowledge of the film/sheet extrusion process is a plus 1-2 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment #LI-KW1
