Job summary

Solvay Cincinnati is looking for an Operator to safely run chemical processes and related systems on an on-site basis. The role emphasizes following detailed procedures, ensuring quality and safety while supporting continuous improvement across the plant.

You will handle sampling, reporting, equipment monitoring, and basic maintenance, with a permanent contract and competitive pay. Relevant manufacturing experience is valued, and SAP knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in chemical/manufacturing industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate chemical processes and auxiliary systems following procedures and work instructions.
  • Report and receive information on unit status, problems, quality defects, and production requirements.
  • Sample products and monitor/adjust equipment and processes.
  • Load and unload packaging and finished products.
  • Perform minor maintenance to support reliability of equipment.
  • Complete safety and environmental checks and reports.
  • Conduct inventory checks.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement.

About The Role

Our Cincinnati team, composed of 34 people, is integrated into the Special Chemical global business unit and focuses on the production and delivery of quality Alumina and Nocolok products in collaboration with our Solvay support teams and executive leadership.

As an Operator, you will safely operate chemical processes and auxiliary systems following procedures, work instructions, and special instructions.

You will be accountable for:

  • Reporting and receiving information regarding unit status, operational problems, quality defects, production requirements, and maintenance information.
  • Sampling products.
  • Monitoring and adjusting equipment and processes.
  • Loading and unloading packaging and finished products.
  • Performing minor maintenance activities to support reliable equipment operations.
  • Completing safety and environmental checks and reports.
  • Conducting inventory checks.
  • Supporting and participating in continuous improvement.

We offer a permanent contract based onsite working schedule.

About You

High school diploma (or GED).

Relevant work experience in chemical or manufacturing industries.

About The Pay and Benefits
  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $25.86/hr to $30.42/hr, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience.
