Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to learn and perform multiple manufacturing and equipment operator functions.
• Strong commitment to safety, food safety and quality.
• Mechanical aptitude for minor maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotate to multiple assignments.
• Forklift operation experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on packaging equipment.
• Monitor product flow to maintain quality and temperatures.
• Verify palletized inventory and reconcile with system data.
• Set up palletizing and stretch-wrap equipment.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas.

About The Role.

McCain Foods is seeking a Production Utility Operator to join the Manufacturing team at our Burley, Idaho facility. This position works a 12-hour day or night shift and serves as a versatile operations resource, providing relief coverage for multiple production and packaging operator positions. When not performing operator duties, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary equipment and work areas to support food safety, quality, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing.

• Understand and apply quality management principles in all aspects of daily work.
• Follow and support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure food safety and product quality.
• Provide relief coverage for various production and packaging positions as assigned by leadership.
• Operate equipment including fryers, peelers, cutters, mixers, packaging lines, palletizers, forklifts, and other manufacturing systems.
• Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust packaging and case-sealing equipment.
• Perform equipment disassembly and reassembly for sanitation and product changeovers.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on packaging and sealing equipment.
• Monitor product flow to maintain quality standards, product temperatures, and efficient operations.
• Verify palletized inventory through physical counts and reconcile counts with system data.
• Set up and adjust palletizing and stretch-wrap equipment to support packaging operations.
• Maintain assigned equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.

Compensation Package

- Starting at 22.37 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
