Description

Overview:

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Cleans equipment, water and lint traps, performs blowdowns on ironer, dryer, and tunnel; performs various production expedite activities including loading carts, obtaining supplies, moving boxes, cleaning areas, maintaining restroom facilities, stocking supplies, and emptying trash bins; operates forklift if necessary; maintains a safe and clean work environment; and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Knowledge of sewing equipment, proper sewing techniques, thermo-patching equipment, and other tools used in textile repair.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

Work is performed in a warehouse setting, exposed to outside weather, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Work is based on a shift schedule, may include weekends, and overtime as needed. Physical requirements include moving, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, stretching, and standing/walking for long periods. Education:

High School Degree or Equivalent Preferred.
