Job summary

A to Z Machine Company in Appleton, WI is hiring a Utility Operator for 1st or 2nd shift. This full-time, hands-on role supports machine shop and production operations, material handling, and shipping activities.

The position offers cross-training, growth opportunities, and a clean, temperature-controlled shop in a team-focused environment. Prior manufacturing experience is valued, with training provided for forklift and crane operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to learn forklift, crane, and equipment operation.
• Ability to read blueprints is a plus.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Team-focused mindset and reliable attendance.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Support various machine shop and production operations.
• Assist with truck driving, loading/unloading, and material handling.
• Support shipping & receiving activities.
• Assemble parts using bolts, clips, screws, and other fasteners.
• Perform basic inspection of finished assemblies.
• Polish, saw, grind, and deburr parts.
• Learn to read blueprints and efficiently assemble/disassemble parts.
• Train to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and company vehicles.

Are you mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and like having something different to do each day? A to Z Machine Company is looking for a Utility Operator to support a variety of functions throughout our machine and production shops.

This is a great opportunity to build your manufacturing skills, cross-train in different areas, and become an important part of the team.

What You'll Do:

• Support various machine shop and production operations
• Assist with truck driving, loading/unloading, and material handling
• Support shipping & receiving activities
• Assemble parts using bolts, clips, screws, and other fasteners
• Perform basic inspection of finished assemblies
• Polish, saw, grind, and deburr parts
• Learn to read blueprints and efficiently assemble/disassemble parts
• Train to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and company vehicles
• Follow 5S, ISO/quality, and safety procedures

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Wednesday | 2:30 PM – 2:30 AM
• 2nd Shift: Thursday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

You're a Great Fit If You Have:
