Job summary

Salem Land Services seeks a qualified Utility Operations Coordinator to support transmission operations and Grid Control Center activities in Lithia Springs, GA. You will coordinate communications between field personnel, operations teams, and external partners, assist with outage reporting, and maintain records in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred candidates have utility operations or dispatching experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain communication with internal customers including TMCs and supervisory personnel.
• Coordinate communications with external utility and infrastructure partners during system events.
• Assist with outage reporting and documentation corrections in records.
• Enter and maintain operational records and field activity data in company databases.
• Communicate routine operational updates and emergency notifications to field personnel.
• Track transmission system events and associated equipment.
• Maintain records of outages and operational activities.
• Support GCC operations with administrative and clerical tasks.
• Ensure documentation adheres to operational procedures in a timely manner.

Salem Land Services is seeking qualified candidates for submission to a leading electric utility company for a Utility Operations Coordinator opportunity located in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

Per diem support is available for candidates outside of Lithia Springs, Georgia.

This position supports transmission operations and Grid Control Center (GCC) activities by coordinating communications between field personnel, operations teams, supervisors, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist with outage reporting, maintain operational records, track system events, and provide administrative support in a fast-paced utility operations environment.

Candidates with experience in utility operations, dispatching, field coordination, infrastructure support, the electrical industry, or administrative operations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain communication with internal customers, including Transmission Management Centers (TMCs) and supervisory personnel.
• Coordinate communications with external utility and infrastructure partners during system events.
• Assist Transmission Power System Coordinators with outage reporting, documentation corrections, and record maintenance.
• Answer phone calls from field personnel entering and exiting substations and transmission line rights-of-way.
• Enter and maintain operational records and field activity information within company databases.
• Communicate routine operational updates and emergency notifications to field personnel.
• Track transmission system events involving power lines and associated equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of outages, operational activities, and system events.
• Support Grid Control Center operations through administrative and clerical functions.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication in accordance with operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience working for an electric utility.
• Experience supporting transmission, generation, or substation operations.
• Field experience in utility construction or maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical fundamentals.
• Familiarity with control center, dispatch, or utility operations environments.
