Job summary

H&K Group, Inc. Structures Division is seeking a Utility Mechanic to service and maintain small gas, diesel, and electric powered hand tools.

The role requires strong technical, customer service, and problem‑solving skills in a heavy civil contracting environment. The ideal candidate will perform maintenance tasks per OSHA/MSHA policies, keep accurate meter readings, and ensure tools are in good working order.

Qualifications

• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving ability.
• Ability to fit test and use PPE as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (lifting, movement).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of small gas, diesel, and electric powered hand tools.
• Keep records of meter readings for power equipment.
• Overhaul small gas and diesel engines.
• Maintain cleanliness of work site and tools.
• Notify supervisor of complications during servicing.
• Train on use and maintenance of new tools.
